These are the cars that lose their value the most

Which new cars depreciate the most? In this article we will tell you, and to do this we consulted with companies that specialize in this field, they use various information to accurately assess how much new cars will be worth in the future when it comes time to be sold as used cars. Thus, the Iasi airport car rental agency Nova Rent a Car created a list with the model that loses its value the most from each car manufacturer and after that they were ranked according to the value they have in percentages after they are three years old and have 40 thousand kilometers on board.

Mitsubishi's Outlander SUV has been on the market for over 20 years and it seems it's not the most desirable car on the market, which might explain why it's only worth 39.9 percent of its original price after just three years . This means that we pay 40 thousand euros when it is new but lose over 24 thousand euros when we sell it for 16 thousand euros, that is, we will suffer a loss of 60% compared to the original price.

The Renagate model is the smallest car in the Jeep manufacturer's portfolio, but it is also the one that loses its value the fastest. After three years, this SUV is sold for only 39.7% of the original price of 26 thousand euros, so it loses more than 60% of its value and reaches the price of 10 thousand euros.

At the Japanese manufacturer Nissan, we learn that the Micra model depreciates the fastest. This car is only worth 39.3 percent of its original price of 16,500 euros after three years. If we sell it after this period we will lose 10 thousand euros because its value will be 6500 euros, which means a large depreciation of 61% for such a small car.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta is a model launched in 2010, 12 years have passed and although it can still be bought new, this is one of the reasons why after three years it will be worth only 39.1% of the original price of 22.5 thousand euros. Thus we will lose almost 14 thousand euros, i.e. 61%, if we sell it second-hand at the price of 9 thousand euros.

McLaren builds many exclusive supercars like the Speedtail, 765LT and Elva but because of this the normal models tend to be forgotten. This explains why the McLaren 570GT is only worth 39% of its original price after just three years. A new one costs around 180 thousand euros but we will lose 110 thousand euros or 61% of the money we spent on it if we sell it. In this case we suspect that reliability problems also affected the value of the car.

The Passat model from Volkswagen is a very good car, it just doesn't stand out, and maybe that's the reason why it's worth only 38.5% of the original price of 31 thousand euros after three years. So if we sell it we will lose almost 19,000 euros because it will only be worth 12,000 euros.

Rolls-Royce makes some of the most expensive and exclusive cars in the world, but they are still affected by depreciation, especially when it comes to the Dawn convertible. After three years this model is worth only 38.3% of its initial value of 320 thousand euros. Therefore, those who want to sell this car will lose almost 200 thousand euros, that is 62% after 3 years.

The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross isn't the Japanese automaker's most successful car, and it doesn't hold its value very well either. This small SUV can be sold after three years for only 38.1% of its original price of 24 thousand euros. This means that we will lose almost 15 thousand euros if we sell it second hand because it will only be worth 9000 euros.

The Galaxy model is the largest car produced by the Americans from Ford, here we are of course not talking about pickup trucks like the F-150, but strictly cars. In this case "high" also applies to high depreciation value, so if we purchase a new Ford Galaxy, after three years we will be able to sell it for only 38% of its initial value of almost 40 thousand euros. Basically, we will lose 25 thousand euros, 62%, because we will sell it for only 15,000 euros.

Jaguar sneaks ahead of Ford on our list but not in a positive way because the Jaguar XF will be worth just 37.8% of its original price after just three years. As a new Jaguar XF costs around 37 thousand euros, on sale it will be worth only 14 thousand euros, which represents a depreciation of 23 thousand euros.

The model with the biggest depreciation from the Korean manufacturer Hyundai is called the i30 Fastback, and even if it looks better than many of its competitors, it is worth only 37.6% of its original price of 29 thousand euros. Thus, after only three years, it will be sold for only 11 thousand euros, a depreciation of 62.4% or 18,000 euros to be exact.

The Renault Megane is a very good family hatchback but it does a very poor job of retaining value, it is the fastest depreciating model in the Renault range. After three years it will be worth only 37.4% of the original price of 19 thousand euros, so it will sell for only 7 thousand euros, a decrease of 62.6% or 12 thousand euros from the price when it was new.

The Subaru Levorg is the model that loses its value the most from the Japanese manufacturer, probably the somewhat uninspired name also affects it in this regard. This model will be worth only 36.4 of the initial sale price of 40 thousand euros after three years. Thus, 63.6% or more than 25 thousand euros will be lost during the sale because it will only be worth 14 thousand per euro.

The Volvo S90 is also only worth 36.4% of its original price after three years, just like the Subaru Levorg. On the other hand Volvo S90 is much more expensive because its price starts from over 63 thousand euros and this means that the loss of money is much higher when it will be sold, namely over 40 thousand euros because it will be worth only 23 thousand euros, a depreciation of almost 64% in just three years.

A brand new BMW 7 Series is worth after only three years and 40 thousand kilometers on board only 35.6% of the original sale price which starts from 85 thousand euros. This means that this luxury sedan from BMW loses almost 55 thousand euros or 64.4% in value in just a few years and will sell for only 30 thousand euros. The main idea regarding these cars is not to pay the catalog price and for this the office of Nova Rent a Car airport Iasi recommends you to get them at the biggest possible discounts from dealers through negotiations and for this price offers should be requested from as many as possible.

Bentley builds some of the most coveted cars in the world, but that doesn't mean they're immune to depreciation. The Bentley Mulsanne is the most depreciating model from the British manufacturer and at the same time it is also the most expensive. After only three years, its value depreciates to 34.1% of the initial price of over 273 thousand euros. So at the sale, almost 180 thousand euros or 65.9% will be lost and it will be sold for only 93,000 euros.

The Mercedes SL is the model that loses the most value from the German manufacturer because after only three years it will be worth only 33.2% of the original price of 90 thousand euros. Thus, at the sale, over 60 thousand euros or 66.8% will be lost because its value will be only 30 thousand euros.

The Maserati Quattroporte is the most luxurious model from this Italian car manufacturer, but you'll be shocked to learn how quickly it loses value. After three years one of these elegant limousines is worth only 32.1% of the original price of 95 thousand euros. So, during the sale, almost 65 thousand euros or 68% will be lost and it will be sold for 31 thousand euros, which is a lot.

Perhaps we expected a large Maserati limousine to depreciate a lot, but how does an Audi? Well, we at the Nova Rent a Car airport Iasi car rental company were also surprised because the new Audi A8 loses even more value than the Quattroporte. After only three years, the Audi A8 will be worth only 31.1% of the initial price of almost 85 thousand euros. This means that on sale we will lose almost 69% or 59 thousand euros because it will sell for only 26 thousand euros.

The car model that depreciates the most comes from another Italian manufacturer and is called the Fiat Tipo. After three years this compact car will be worth only 29.7% of the original price of 18 thousand euros. Thus, at the sale, over 70% or 12 thousand euros will be lost because it will be sold for just over 5 thousand euros.
