New Skoda Fabia Motorsport Edition: Full details, price and availability in Romania for the anniversary model
MLADÁ BOLESLAV / BUCHAREST – Skoda is marking a historic milestone in the automotive industry and in world sports: 125 years of uninterrupted success in motorsport. To celebrate this legacy, the Czech manufacturer has unveiled the new Skoda Fabia Motorsport Edition, an ultra-exclusive edition that transforms the popular hatchback into a true collector's item for speed enthusiasts.
Top performance: The most powerful series-production Fabia
Under the hood of this special edition is no ordinary engine. The performance engineers have taken the 1.5-liter TSI evo2 unit and optimized it to deliver no less than 177 horsepower (130 kW) and 250 Nm of torque.
The power is managed by a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, specially recalibrated for a dynamic driving style. An absolute novelty for this segment is the rev-match function available in Sport mode, which synchronizes the revs when downshifting, providing an acoustic and mechanical experience worthy of the rally circuits. The result? Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 228 km/h.
Design inspired by the Fabia RS Rally2 champion
Visually, the Motorsport Edition is a tribute to the WRC successes. The bodywork is finished in Moon White, strongly contrasted by the glossy black A-pillars and roof. The exterior graphics are directly inspired by the Fabia RS Rally2 competition model, giving the car an aggressive presence.
The outer package is completed by:
- 18-inch Libra wheels with smoke finish;
- Sports suspension that lowers the ground clearance for increased stability;
- Bi-LED headlights with black background;
- Dual exhaust tips and a pronounced rear diffuser.
A cockpit for "pilots"
The interior follows the same sporty line. The driver and front passenger are welcomed in sports seats with integrated headrests, while the dashboard and doors are decorated with inserts imitating carbon fiber.
The exclusivity is reaffirmed by the sports steering wheel bearing the "Skoda Motorsport 125" emblem and a numbered plaque on the dashboard, which attests to the limited series of 125 units. As a unique detail, each buyer will receive a "race gift": special driving gloves and a certificate of authenticity signed by the Skoda Auto Board of Directors.
Price and availability in Romania
The good news for fans of the brand in our country is that the new special edition is already in the import plans. In Romania, the anniversary model based on the top configuration "Fabia 130" has a starting price of approximately 30,200 euros (VAT included).
However, given that production is limited to just 125 units worldwide, availability on the local market will be extremely limited. Sources within the dealer network suggest that only a few examples will actually reach showrooms in Romania, most of which are probably already reserved by loyal collectors of the brand.
