How much will the new BMW 3 Series thermal car cost in Romania and when will it arrive in showrooms?
BMW is preparing the debut of a new generation for the most representative model in its history. Through a recently published video teaser, the German manufacturer officially confirmed that the new generation of the 3 Series with internal combustion engines will be revealed on September 30. The video offers the first visual clues about the sedan's silhouette, marking the transition to a new era of design and technology, while preserving the classic recipe of Bavarian dynamics.
This launch comes shortly after the publication of the first images from track dynamics tests, confirming that the model is in the final stages before entering series production.
Neue Klasse design on an optimized CLAR architecture
The most important structural change is the fusion of aesthetics and conventional powertrain engineering. Visually, the new 3 Series borrows the minimalist and futuristic language developed for the Neue Klasse concept family, standing out with clean lines, a reinterpreted front grille and advanced LED light signatures.
However, the thermal versions do not use the dedicated electric platform, but are built on a deeply revised variant of the CLAR (Cluster Architecture). This optimized structure brings superior torsional rigidity, widened tracks and an advanced electronics package. Among the innovations taken from the electric models are the "Heart of Joy" dynamics control software system and 6D motion sensors, designed to provide instant steering response and extremely precise handling.
Under the hood: Mild-hybrid and the power of the M350 xDrive version
The engine range will be fully electrified through 48V mild-hybrid systems, including efficient 4- and 6-cylinder units.
The top of the range M Performance series renamed M350 xDrive (replacement of the old M340i) becomes the most powerful variant in the family before the M3 version. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine capable of remarkable performance:

- Engine torque: 580 Nm
- Acceleration 0–100 km/h: 4.1 seconds
- Top speed: 250 km/h (electronically limited)
The power is handled by an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission connected to the xDrive all-wheel drive system. In addition, the car will receive the “Drift Moment” function, which allows the front axle to be completely disengaged and all torque to be sent to the rear wheels.
Availability and estimated prices for the Romanian market
Production of the new generation BMW 3 Series is scheduled to begin in the second half of the year, with the first deliveries to customers in Romania expected at the end of the year or the beginning of next year.
