Premiere in Stuttgart: First official images of the interior of the new electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Digital luxury and thermal efficiency: Mercedes-Benz reveals the interior of the new electric C-Class ahead of its premiere on April 20

Stuttgart, April 16, 2026 – The countdown has begun. Just four days before the grand world premiere scheduled for April 20, Mercedes-Benz has lifted the curtain on the interior of the new electric C-Class. It is not just a simple adaptation of the combustion model, but a complete rethinking of what comfort and technology mean in the zero-emission premium sedan segment.

The new model, which will compete directly with the segment leaders, promises to transform every journey into a sensory experience, relying on a fusion between sustainable materials and cutting-edge digital architecture.

A digital sanctuary: MBUX Hyperscreen and the new MB.OS

The centerpiece of the cabin is undoubtedly the optional MBUX Hyperscreen (or Superscreen variant), which spans almost the entire width of the dashboard. Underneath this glass surface runs the new MB.OS operating system, developed in-house by Mercedes-Benz.

The system uses “Zero Layer” artificial intelligence, which learns the driver’s habits and proactively displays relevant functions (navigation, music or comfort settings) exactly when they need them. The atmosphere is completed by the extensive ambient lighting system, which can also include the Sky Control panoramic roof, capable of changing its degree of opacity at the touch of a button.

"Uncompromising" comfort and vegan materials

The Stuttgart representatives emphasized that "comfort" was the watchword in the development of this model. Here are the main innovations in terms of materials:

  • Innovative upholstery: From the entry level, customers receive Softtorino eco-leather. For those seeking traditional luxury, Nappa leather comes with the exclusive Twisted Diamond pattern and contrasting stitching.
  • Sustainable alternatives: In the spirit of the times, the electric C-Class will offer a 100% vegan interior, using recycled and sustainable materials that still retain the texture and premium quality.
  • Metallic details: The air vents and speakers feature metallic inserts, while the optional Burmester 3D audio system comes with stainless steel grilles and speakers integrated directly into the seats for a 4D audio experience.

Thermal revolution: Twice as fast as a gasoline model

Perhaps the most impressive technical detail revealed today is the efficiency of the new air conditioning system. Thanks to the standard heat pump and the new electrical architecture, Mercedes-Benz promises that the passenger compartment warms up twice as fast as in a conventional model.

"On a frosty morning of -7 degrees Celsius, a journey of just 20 minutes is enough to reach the ideal temperature in half the time required by a heat engine," claim the German engineers.

MB.EA Architecture: Performance Under the Skin

Beyond aesthetics, the new electric C-Class is a technological beast. Built on the dedicated MB.EA platform (800 V), the model promises ultra-fast charging speeds (up to 330 kW according to market estimates).

Specification (Estimated) Details
Platform MB.EA (Mercedes-Benz Electric Architecture)
Architecture 800 Volts
Target Range Up to 700 km (WLTP)
Maximum Power Approx. 490 HP (for the 400e 4MATIC version)
Fast Charging 10 minutes for 300 km of range

Absolute silence

To ensure that outside noise stays where it belongs, Mercedes-Benz has added sound-absorbing materials. The absence of an internal combustion engine is thus complemented by top-notch sound insulation, making the new electric C-Class one of the quietest models ever produced by the manufacturer.

The official launch will take place on April 20, 2026, when we will find out the official performance figures and, most importantly, the prices for the European market. Until then, the images of the interior confirm only one thing: the future Mercedes-Benz is not only electric, but also extremely refined.

What is the detail that impresses you the most about this new interior: the screen technology or the record-breaking cabin heating speed?
