The Golden Ratio of Performance: The New Porsche Cayenne S Electric Promises 666 HP and Record Range

Stuttgart / Bratislava – Porsche continues its electric offensive and completes the puzzle of the fourth generation of its most popular SUV. The German manufacturer has officially presented the new Cayenne S Electric, a variant that not only fills the gap between the base model and the Turbo variant, but also achieves an unexpected feat: it becomes the range champion in the new electric range.

The "S" of supreme balance

Traditionally, the letter “S” in Porsche’s nomenclature has always stood for added sportiness without sacrificing versatility. In the electric age, this philosophy is taken to a new level. The new Cayenne S Electric eliminates the classic distinction between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (specific to other models in the group), being offered exclusively with an advanced all-wheel drive system.

Under the hood (or, more accurately, under the body), the powertrain is an engineering masterpiece. In normal mode, the SUV develops 544 hp, but the figures become truly impressive when the Launch Control function is activated: 657 hp (approximately 666 hp in some specific units of measurement). With an increase of 224 hp compared to the entry-level version, the Cayenne S Electric sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Cutting-edge technology: Silicon carbide and efficiency

The biggest surprise of this model comes not from its brute force, but from its efficiency. Although it uses the same massive 113 kWh (gross capacity) battery as the other versions, the Cayenne S Electric manages to achieve the longest range in the range: up to 653 kilometers (WLTP).

The secret lies in the technical details hidden under the chassis. Porsche has equipped the rear axle with a pulse inverter using silicon carbide (SiC), a state-of-the-art semiconductor material that drastically reduces energy losses and allows currents of up to 620 amperes to be processed. Furthermore, the permanently excited synchronous motor benefits from a direct oil cooling system, maintaining constant performance even under aggressive driving conditions.

Record charging: 16 minutes for a new adventure

Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the new Cayenne S Electric redefines the time spent at the charging station. With an absorption power of up to 400 kW, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 16 minutes. In fact, the time of a short coffee break is enough to add hundreds of kilometers of range.

Distinctive design and "Top" features

Visually, the S version stands out with a more aggressive aesthetic. Specific spoilers finished in Volcano Grey Metallic and 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels give it an imposing presence on the road.

But the real added value comes from the options list. For the first time, S customers can access technologies previously reserved exclusively for the top-of-the-range Turbo:

  • Porsche Active Ride: The latest generation of active suspension that compensates for roll and pitch movements almost completely.
  • PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake): The ceramic braking system, recognizable by its yellow calipers, for unbeatable stopping power.
  • Torque Vectoring Plus: For increased agility in corners.

Availability and price

Produced at the Volkswagen Group's ultra-modern plant in Bratislava, the new Porsche Cayenne S Electric is already available for order. In Europe, the starting price has been set at 126,400 euros.

With this third variant, Porsche is demonstrating that the transition to electric power is not a compromise, but an evolution. The Cayenne S Electric appears to be the “sweet spot” of the range at this point, offering the greatest range, supercar performance and the technological luxury that the Zuffenhausen brand has accustomed its fans to for over seven decades.
