Maserati brings the GT2 Stradale to Romania. The price is in line with the performance

The trident is sharpening: Maserati GT2 Stradale debuted in Romania

A super track car "escaped" on our roads, at a price commensurate with its exclusivity: 314,476 euros.

Bucharest has put on its best clothes for a historic moment: the Maserati GT2 Stradale has been officially presented in Romania. It is not just a simple supercar launch; it is a bridge between the glorious past of a century ago and the extreme engineering of the future. For speed enthusiasts in the country, this model represents the road-legal version of the GT2 racing beast, being, in essence, an MC20 that has been “pulled by the beasts” in motorsport mode.

Physics-defying performances

The new GT2 Stradale doesn't just look menacing. Under its hood, the famous 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine pulses, which has been optimized to deliver 640 horsepower.

The numbers are simply staggering:

  • Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 2.8 seconds.
  • Maximum speed: 324 km/h.
  • Weight: 60 kilograms lighter than the standard MC20 model.
  • Downforce: A massive carbon fiber package that generates 500 kg of downforce at 280 km/h, providing "glue" stability in corners.

A Century of Trident: 1926–2026

The launch event in Romania had a double significance. This year, Maserati celebrates the centenary of the iconic Trident logo, originally designed by Mario Maserati, inspired by the Statue of Neptune in Bologna.

Moreover, it is 100 years since the brand's first major motorsport victory. In 1926, Alfieri Maserati drove the Tipo 26 to victory in the famous Targa Florio. The GT2 Stradale comes as a modern tribute to that legacy, carrying in its DNA the obsession with tenths of a second gained on the circuit.

Exclusivity and price: The ticket to the "914 Club"

If you want to have this gem in your garage, you'll need to act fast and have your bills ready. Maserati has announced that production is limited to just 914 units globally — a symbolic number that refers to the year the company was founded (1914).

The starting price in Romania is 314,476 euros with VAT included.

However, at the launch event, the model on display — equipped with numerous optional elements and customizations through the Fuoriserie program — exceeded the 390,000 euro threshold.

Specification Details
Engine 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6 Nettuno

Our verdict

The Maserati GT2 Stradale is not a car for everyone, nor does it want to be. It is a manifesto of strength through which the Italians demonstrate that, although the industry is shifting towards electrification, the "voice" of the internal combustion engine and the purity of sporty driving remain their fundamental values.

Is it expensive? Absolutely. But for someone looking for a surgically precise track tool that can be legally driven to the restaurant, the GT2 Stradale is probably the best gift that Trident fans can give themselves on their 100th anniversary.
