Range Rover Sport Electric 2027 arrives in Romania - estimated prices by versions and configuration options
Just over a month after the debut of the first all-electric Range Rover, the British brand is taking the next step in its electrification strategy with the official unveiling of the new Range Rover Sport Electric. The performance SUV takes all the dynamic attributes of the conventional model and transforms them into a completely redefined technical package, powered by a zero-emission twin-motor drivetrain.
Advanced MLA-Flex platform and integrated production at Solihull
The new model is based on the MLA-Flex (Flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture), specifically designed to accommodate both internal combustion engines, hybrids and 100% high-voltage electric propulsion systems. The platform integrates an 800-volt system, allowing for ultra-fast charging speeds and efficient thermal management.
Production of the new Range Rover Sport Electric will take place in the UK, at the historic Solihull plant, being assembled on the same flexible production line on which the combustion engine and plug-in hybrid versions of the range are manufactured.
Optimized aerodynamics and exclusive First Edition series
Aesthetically, the electric version retains its characteristic athletic proportions, but receives a series of special adjustments to minimize drag coefficient. The front grille is now completely closed, specific to electric vehicles, and the range of alloy wheels includes new aerodynamically developed options.
The new Range Rover Sport Electric will be structured in three main equipment levels: Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography.
The commercial debut will be marked by a special launch edition called the First Edition. This will be distinguished by an exclusive Zadar Grey exterior color, combined with a contrasting black roof and special 22-inch alloy wheels.
550 hp powertrain, increased rigidity and dynamic behavior
Under the hood, the new Range Rover Sport Electric houses two electric motors – one on each axle – delivering a total output of 550 horsepower and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. With Dynamic Launch activated, the SUV sprints from 0 to 96 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
The move to electrical architecture brought major structural benefits:
- Torsional rigidity: The body is 61% stiffer compared to the version equipped with thermal engines.
- Lower center of gravity: The floor-mounted battery lowers the center of gravity by 73 millimeters.
The model benefits from an electronically managed virtual all-wheel drive system, complemented by a dynamic air suspension, the Active Roll Control active stabilization system and all-wheel steering (rear axle steering) for a high level of maneuverability both on the road and on rough terrain.
118.5 kWh battery and ultra-fast charging at 800V
Energy storage is provided by a massive lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 118.5 kWh. This allows for a real-world range estimated at 536 kilometers on a single full charge.
Thanks to the 800V architecture, the performance at the DC fast charging station is top-notch:
- Charging from 10% to 80% takes just 22 minutes;
- A quick charging session of just 10 minutes adds an additional range of around 220 kilometers.
Availability and estimated prices for the Romanian market
Pre-order lists for the new Range Rover Sport Electric will officially open at the end of this year, with the first deliveries to the dealer network in Romania expected for the first half of next year.
The price positioning reflects the exclusive character of the electric SUV and the high level of standard performance and luxury features.
