Zeekr 7GT rewrites the rules of the game: Historic pre-order record for the electric station wagon that has also arrived in Romania
While traditional automakers in Europe are recalculating their electrification strategies, Chinese premium brand Zeekr (under the umbrella of giant Geely) is demonstrating that the public is more than ready for pure battery-powered performance.
The new Zeekr 7GT, a spectacular shooting brake designed in Sweden and equipped with cutting-edge technology, has taken the global market by storm, registering an absolute record of 3,800 pre-orders in an extremely short period of time. Even better news for local fans of sustainable mobility is that this model has officially debuted in Romania, with an extremely competitive starting price in the premium segment.
An atypical silhouette in a sea of SUVs
In an industry dominated to the point of monotony by massive SUVs and crossovers, Zeekr's decision to launch a low, aerodynamic and aggressive station wagon is a breath of fresh air. The car's flowing lines were drawn in the design center in Gothenburg (Sweden), giving the new 7GT an imposing stage presence and a pronounced European character.
But the real magic lies beneath the bodywork: the new zero-emission model is built on an advanced 800V architecture, a technology usually reserved for electric cars in much higher price ranges.
Three performance versions: Up to 646 horsepower
Zeekr 7GT comes to the Romanian market in a simplified structure of three versions, designed to cover both the needs of those focused on efficiency and autonomy, as well as those seeking pure adrenaline.

Charging at the speed of a coffee: The monstrous 480 kW threshold
If the range figures (which exceed 650 km in the mid-range version) offer peace of mind on long journeys, it is the charging technology that completely changes the rules of the game. The battery of the new Zeekr 7GT can be charged at fast charging stations with a power of up to 480 kW.
Under optimal conditions, a stop to recharge from 10% to 80% takes around 11-13 minutes for the smaller battery (LFP type, internally called the “Golden Battery”) and around 16 minutes for the massive 100 kWh battery (NMC). Basically, the car is ready to go before the driver finishes their coffee.
What does this assault mean for the local car market?
With a starting price set at 46,500 euros (VAT included), the Zeekr 7GT enters directly into the territory of established rivals such as the Tesla Model 3 or the higher versions of the Volkswagen ID.7, but offers a much more refined interior, premium materials (such as Nappa leather and Alcantara on the higher versions) and superior driving dynamics.
Moreover, the top variant, powered by 646 horsepower at just over 60,000 euros, puts the performance of German models that cost almost twice as much to the test. The 3,800 pre-orders reported at brand level represent just the beginning of a Chinese premium wave that promises to seriously shake up the old guard of cars in Europe.
