The new Skoda Peaq is preparing for its debut: Official sketches and details about the June 23 launch

New electric flagship: Škoda reveals official sketches of the Peaq SUV, scheduled for launch on June 23

The Mladá Boleslav-based manufacturer is stepping on the accelerator in the electric mobility segment and is giving the public a first detailed look at its future top-of-the-range model. Škoda has published the first official sketches of the exterior of the new Peaq, a large electric SUV, powered as the brand's new flagship. The production version, derived from the spectacular Vision 7S concept, promises to redefine the brand's standards for space and comfort.

The world premiere will take place in just a few weeks, on June 23, 2026, at a special event organized in France.

The Visual Revolution: The "Modern Solid" Language and the "Vulcan" Style Bar

The new Peaq takes up the aesthetic baton and adopts the brand's new design language, called Modern Solid — a philosophy focused on clean surfaces, minimalist lines, and a robust presence on the road, elements that we will also see applied to its younger brother, Epiq.

From the published sketches, several unique design elements can be observed:

  • Tech Deck Face: The classic front grille is replaced by a glossy black panel, flanked by slim LED optical blocks, arranged in the shape of the letter T. A luminous strip crosses the entire front, providing an unmistakable nighttime signature.
  • "Volcano" front bumper: The lower area of ??the bumper receives an aggressive, three-dimensional profile, designed to emphasize the width of the car.
  • Fluid aerodynamics: The roof has a slightly sloping line towards the rear, ending in a discreet spoiler. The door handles are fully integrated into the body (retractable), an absolute first for Škoda, optimising airflow.
  • Continuous glass surface: A spectacular visual touch is visible in the rear side windows, where the glass extends fluidly from the median area directly to the ceiling, without visible interruptions in the profile.

With a total length of almost 4.9 meters and a generous wheelbase of 2,965 mm, Peaq will become the largest and most spacious model ever produced by Škoda, offering massive proportions and an imposing presence.

5 or 7-seat "Lounge" interior

Designed as a vehicle dedicated to large families and long journeys, the Škoda Peaq will be available in 5- or 7-seat configurations. The interior space promises to be huge: the 5-seat version offers a record-breaking 935-liter luggage compartment, while the 3-row version retains a 299-liter luggage capacity, plus a 37-liter “frunk” (front luggage compartment) for charging cables.

Inside, the centerpiece will be a 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen based on an Android operating system, complemented by cutting-edge technologies, such as an electrochromic panoramic roof (which changes its transparency at the touch of a button) and the Relax package with AGR-certified ergonomic seats and electric footrest.

Performance: Three engine versions and top-notch range

Built on an extended version of the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, the Škoda Peaq will use new-generation batteries and will be available in three propulsion variants, adapted both for urban efficiency and for long-distance driving with all-wheel drive.

Version Battery Capacity (Gross) Power Output (hp / kW) Drivetrain Estimated Range
Peaq 60 63 kWh 204 hp / 150 kW Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) > 460 km
Peaq 90 91 kWh 282 hp / 210 kW Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) > 600 km
Peaq 90X 91 kWh 299 hp / 220 kW All-Wheel Drive (AWD) > 600 km

In addition, the new flagship will integrate advanced bidirectional charging technologies, such as V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2H (Vehicle-to-Home), allowing the car to power external electrical appliances or even deliver energy directly to the home network.

Availability and price estimates in Romania

Although official prices will only be communicated around the commercial debut, we can anticipate the positioning of the new model on the Romanian market taking into account its flagship status and the current prices of the Enyaq range.

  • Estimated starting price: For the base Peaq 60 version (63 kWh battery), we expect a starting price in the range of 55,000 – 58,000 euros. The higher versions (Peaq 90 and 90X) equipped with the large 91 kWh battery, all-wheel drive and top finishes (such as the Sportline line available from launch) will easily exceed the threshold of 65,000 – 72,000 euros.
  • Availability in Romania: After the world premiere on June 23, Škoda will most likely open pre-order lists towards the end of autumn. The first Škoda Peaq series units will arrive in showrooms in Romania and to the first customers in the first half of 2027.
