Cars from Audi, BMW, VW, Ford and other car manufacturers that are sold only in China
China has a gigantic car industry and in the past only Chinese cars were sold in their market but this has changed because brands like Geely, Lynk & Co and Nio have started selling their cars in Europe and other markets around the globe. Also European car manufacturers were eager to sell their cars in China because it is such a huge market and for this they built specific cars only for this country. These are cars that we do not receive in Europe, so in this article the Nova Rent a Car airport Iasi car rental office shows you which are the most interesting models from different car brands that only China receives and we do not we get.
We will start with the German car manufacturer Audi who sell several models exclusively in China and one of the most interesting is the Audi Q6. This is a flagship SUV with three rows of seats that is even larger than the Q7 model. At the base of the Audi Q6 model is the VW Atlas which is another huge SUV that cannot be bought in Europe because it was developed for the US and Chinese markets but the Audi Q6 has its own unique body whose design is similar to the Q7 in the front and the back remind us of the Audi e-tron. The sale price starts from 70 thousand euros. Then there is the Audi Q5 e-tron model which is based on the Q4 model but is slightly larger, has a range of up to 560 km and costs 57 thousand euros.
The Audi A8 Horch is another model produced exclusively for the Chinese car market. Horch is to Audi what Maybach is to Mercedes, it is their ultimate luxury car. The Horsch is a long-wheelbase A8 L sedan that has been given some extras like a brighter grille, more interior trim, two-tone paint, and more luxury touches. This car costs 245 thousand euros in China, although it can only be bought with the 3-liter V6 engine that develops 335 horsepower. Why doesn't it have the W12 engine considering the steep price? If in Europe only A8 L long wheelbase models are available in the Chinese market we find A4, A6 and A7 models that can be bought with long wheelbase. The last Audi we'll talk about is the Q2L e-tron where the L means it's a slightly longer version of the Q2 and the e-tron means the internal combustion engine has been replaced with an electric one and some batteries. The price of a Q2L e-tron starts from 35 thousand euros in China.
We now move on to the Bavarian automaker BMW and the i3 G28 electric model. This is not the i3 we know in Europe, that small city hatchback, but an electric version of the 3 Series just like in Europe we have the i4 but for some reason the Chinese have the i3. The design follows the same pattern, the radiator grills are blackened and some blue elements are added. The price of this electric car starts from 50 thousand euros. Then like Audi, the Chinese get long-wheelbase versions for the 3-Series that costs 45 thousand euros and for the 5 Series that costs 62 thousand euros.
The Ford Mondeo sedan is no longer available on the European and US markets, instead Nova Rent a Car Iasi Airport informs you that the newest Mondeo model (or Taurus in the Middle East) of the fifth generation is sold on the Chinese market. It is based on the Ford Evos model and has the same 2-liter turbo petrol engine that develops 235 horsepower. Ford Mondeo costs the equivalent of 23 thousand euros in China. Ford Evos is another model available only in the Chinese market, this is a coupe SUV similar in size to the Ford Kuga model that we get in Europe, it is equipped with a 2 liter turbo petrol engine and costs the equivalent of 28 thousand Of euro. The last Ford that we mention is called the Equator which is a large SUV with three rows of seats of two seats each and which costs 24 thousand euros.
In the Chinese car market, the German manufacturer Mercedes sells several long-wheelbase models that do not exist in Europe. For example, on the Chinese market you can even buy the Mercedes A35 model with a long wheelbase (all A Class models are available in the long wheelbase version) and the price starts from 32 thousand euros. Then there are Mercedes C Class long-wheelbase models with a starting price of 47 thousand euros and a long-wheelbase version of the GLC SUV whose price starts from 58 thousand euros.
In China, the Czech manufacturer Skoda sells a long-wheelbase version of the Octavia and it's called the Skoda Octavia Pro. It is equipped with a 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine that develops 150 horsepower and costs 19,000 euros. Another model that is sold exclusively on the Chinese car market is the Kodiaq SUV in the Coupe version, it has two 2-liter turbo gasoline engines that develop 180 horsepower and 217 horsepower, respectively, and a starting price of 34,000 euros .
Finally we reach the letter V and the German car manufacturer Volkswagen, which sells many cars in China that we Europeans do not receive. We will start the presentation with the VW Phideon limousine which is basically a larger version of the Passat model but with more luxury. In the back there are two large comfortable seats with massage functions and a refrigerator is available between them. The VW Phideon is equipped with a 2-liter turbo gasoline engine that develops 220 horsepower and starts at a price of 47,000 euros. The ID.6 Crozz electric SUV is another car that VW sells exclusively in China. This is an elongated version of the ID.4 model that we get in Europe, it also has a slightly different design and the starting price is 36 thousand euros. The VW Talagon is a mid-sized SUV, slightly larger than the Touareg it looks similar to, and is available with 6 or 7 seats in three rows. It is equipped with a V6 turbo petrol engine and costs 42 thousand euros. In China we will also find a VW Tiguan model in Coupe version that looks better, is equipped with a 2-liter turbo gasoline engine and costs 34 thousand euros. Another model available only in China is the VW Tayron which has basically the same dimensions as the VW T-Roc model but looks a little different, it is available with two gas tube engines, one 1.4 liter that develops 150 horsepower and another 2 liter that develops 220 horsepower and the price starts from 35 thousand euros. Finally, we reached the last car that the airport car rental agency Nova Rent a Car from Iasi presents as available exclusively on the Chinese car market, and it is called the VW Lamando. Essentially the VW Lamando is a smaller version of the Arteon we get in Europe but with a sharper nose.
