The strategic partnership between the Stellantis Group and the Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor is taking important steps towards the full localization of production on the European market. After the official confirmation of the expansion of the production lines in Spain for the new Leapmotor B05 compact hatchback, the manufacturer marked a milestone by officially starting production of the B10 SUV at the Zaragoza plant. This industrial move optimizes the supply chain and strengthens the brand's presence on the Old Continent.

Zaragoza plant becomes a key European hub for Leapmotor range

The Stellantis factory in Zaragoza – a traditional industrial complex where established models such as the Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and Lancia Ypsilon are already produced – is expanding its strategic role by hosting the new electrified vehicles signed by Leapmotor.

  • Confirmation of the B05 model: Shortly after the start of operations for the mid-size SUV, the company officially confirmed that the upcoming B05 compact model will be assembled in the same Spanish plant, alongside the other brands of the multinational group.
  • Logistical advantages: Production on European soil allows partners to significantly reduce delivery times and logistics costs, quickly adapting to customer requirements on European markets.

Leapmotor B05: The compact electric model geared towards efficiency

Positioned in the compact class as a direct rival to popular options like the Volkswagen ID.3, the new Leapmotor B05 combines a modern sports-coupé design with an efficient engine.

Technical specifications: On the European market, the B05 model is powered by an electric motor that develops 218 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.

Battery capacity and autonomy:

  • The basic version uses a 56.2 kWh battery, ensuring a range of 401 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
  • The top version is equipped with a 67.1 kWh battery, raising the range to 482 kilometers WLTP.

Pricing policy: In certain European countries, the new Leapmotor B05 is aggressively entering the market with a starting price around 27,000 euros.

Leapmotor B10: Multiple versions and extended range of up to 900 kilometers

The assembly line in Spain marked the beginning of production for the B10 electric SUV, a model designed to cover a wide range of preferences thanks to the diversity of propulsion systems.

  • Pro and Pro Max trims: The first two pure electric versions use the same 218 horsepower and 240 Nm engine, which allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 170 km/h. The Pro version has a 56.2 kWh battery (WLTP range of 361 km), while the Pro Max version comes with a 67.1 kWh battery (WLTP range of 434 km).
  • Hybrid EV (Range Extender): For drivers who want maximum flexibility on long journeys, the Hybrid EV version integrates a 1.5-liter gasoline engine acting exclusively as a generator. With the help of a compact 18.8 kWh battery, the total combined autonomy of this system reaches an impressive value of up to 900 kilometers.

Positioning and prices on the Romanian market

With the start of European production in Zaragoza, the availability of models on the domestic market becomes much more fluent, offering Romanian consumers quick access to modern electrified technologies.

  • Price for the B10 in Romania: The new Leapmotor B10 has a starting price of 30,990 euros (VAT included) on the local market, positioning itself competitively in the compact SUV segment.
  • The advantage of localization: European production eliminates tariff barriers and the uncertainties of maritime transport, guaranteeing constant stocks and a service network ready to support the brand's new models.
