Leapmotor Offensive: Historic sales record in June and the assault on the Romanian market with competitive prices
Leapmotor recorded record global performance in June, consolidating its position as the absolute leader among start-ups in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector. The aggressive expansion on foreign markets, achieved through the strategic joint venture with the giant Stellantis, is already showing its effects in Romania. The manufacturer offers electric and hybrid models locally with an extremely competitive price-performance ratio.
Records on the line in the first half of the year
In the sixth month of the year, Leapmotor delivered a record 93,376 vehicles globally. This figure represents a spectacular 95% increase compared to the same month last year and a 14.47% increase compared to May.
The strong upward trend is also reflected in the quarterly results. In the second quarter of the year, the manufacturer delivered 246,332 cars, 83.68% more than in the same period last year.
Drawing the line after the first six months, cumulative deliveries reached 356,487 units (up 95% compared to the first half of last year). An important historical milestone was also reached at the end of June, when the brand's cumulative global deliveries reached 1,552,590 units.
A vital component of this growth strategy is internationalization: deliveries to markets outside China represented over 12% of the total volume in the first half of the year, a dynamic directly accelerated by the Stellantis group's commercial and logistics network.
How Leapmotor is doing in Romania: Models and prices
In Romania, Leapmotor's presence is rapidly consolidating through established distribution networks (such as Auto Italia). The brand relies on an aggressive pricing strategy, aimed at attracting customers looking for affordable electric vehicles or high-tech SUVs.
- Leapmotor T03 – The city car that attacks Dacia Spring: This city model comes equipped with a 37.3 kWh battery and a combined range of 265 km (WLTP). With a list price starting at approximately 17,398 euros, the model becomes an unbeatable proposition through the Rabla program. With the eco-ticket applied, the final price for the Leapmotor T03 drops to approximately 13,840 euros with VAT included, positioning itself as the cheapest electric car available on the Romanian market.
- Leapmotor B10 – The next-generation compact SUV: Built on the new LEAP 3.5 architecture, the B10 is a modern and fluid C-segment electric SUV. It comes in 56.2 kWh (361 km WLTP range) or 67.1 kWh (434 km WLTP range) battery options. The starting price on the European and local market is extremely competitive, just below the 29,900 euro threshold.
- Leapmotor C10 – The affordable premium family SUV: The largest model in the range, a spacious D-SUV with advanced Cell-to-Chassis technology, is available both as a 100% electric vehicle and in a REEV (Range Extender) version. The REEV variant uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine as a generator, ensuring a total autonomy of up to 950-960 km. On the Romanian market, prices for new C10 models in stock vary between 32,400 and 36,200 euros, depending on the type of propulsion and the equipment line (Life or Design).
Thanks to the solid logistics provided by Stellantis and the extremely competitive prices compared to the standard features offered (advanced ADAS systems, generous screens and fair ranges), Leapmotor ceases to be a simple exotic start-up and becomes a fearsome competitor on the Romanian automotive market.
